KANSAS CITY, December 12, 2016 – Cushman & Wakefield announced today that Port KC, formerly known as the Port Authority of Kansas City, Missouri, has leased five acres of land to Flaherty & Collins for a mixed-use development at The Union at Berkley Riverfront Park, 1298 E. Riverfront Rd.
Flaherty & Collins will develop a new 410-unit, market-rate apartment project with 12,400 square feet of ground-level commercial space and a 400-space parking structure. Construction on the project begins this month; MW Builders is the contractor. Delivery is expected in the summer of 2018. Cushman & Wakefield Vice President Gib Kerr, CCIM, and Associate Jeffrey Bentz represented Port KC in the transaction.

This is just the beginning of what we believe will be one of the most significant riverfront developments in the United States.”
Berkley Riverfront, located in Downtown Kansas City, is south of the new Riverfront Drive and bounded by the Bond and Heart of America bridges. The riverfront site has the potential for a world-class urban village with over 5 million square feet of offices, residential and retail space, along with entertainment and cultural amenities.
